The Bainbridge Decatur County Humane Society requires
that you make an appointment to bring a pet in.
Starting in 2020, the Bainbridge Humane Society will accept owner surrender pets by appointment only. We strongly encourage people with “found animals” to call and make an appointment as well, if possible. This is to better serve not only the animals in our care, but the people within our community. Please note that the Bainbridge Humane Society can only take in animals from Decatur County.
This will ensure that we have the adequate time to get all of the important information about the pet being surrendered to increase its odds of being adopted to the appropriate home. It will also ensure that the person surrendering can be aware of what to expect when coming in, be prepared with all needed information, and be better able to plan their own schedule for that day and not have to wait for an available staff member.
If desired, the needed forms may be downloaded from the links below. Forms may be filled out ahead of your appointment via email, fax, or dropped off in-person. Appointments will be made as space and time allow, but we will always do our best to accommodate the needs of the person surrendering.
We do not charge a set relinquish fee, only ask that you make a donation that is within your means. This will help offset the overhead cost of in-taking and caring for the animal. Please bring any vet records the animal may have and a valid photo ID with you.
Managed intake has been proven to better serve animals, as well as people, and our goal is to provide the best care for the animals at our facility and quality service to the members of our community.
